When I talk to people on the Net, I often see them use strange words like FWIW or IMHO. What do they mean?

On the Net, we "talk" to other people by typing, and typing is a lot slower than talking in person. For this reason, it is common to use various abbreviations and acronyms to speed up the process.

At first, this can be disconcerting, because it looks as if everyone is talking in code. But after a while, you'll catch on and it won't be long before you are typing "FWIW, a LDR is, IMHO, difficult when your SO is not on the Net. Gotta go, PAW." (For what it's worth, a long distance relationship is, in my humble opinion, difficult when your significant other is not on the Net. Gotta go, parents are watching.)
